THE CHALLENGE Michigan’s iconic 1905 Croswell Swinging Bridge is one of the region’s most beloved landmarks, but its entry experience didn’t match its legacy. It felt disconnected from the bridge’s history. The goal: create something welcoming, meaningful, memorable, and built to last.

THE IDEA Reimagine the entry not as signage—but as a Gateway Experience, honoring history while elevating the sense of arrival.

THE EXECUTION A series of intentional builds brought the concept to life. Every material and proportion was thoughtfully chosen so the entry felt authentic, grounded, and permanent—like it had always belonged there.

THE RESULT A transformed entry that now feels iconic and worthy of the bridge it represents. What was once a pass-through is now a true landmark destination—photographed, shared, and celebrated by locals and visitors alike. The revitalization reconnected people to the bridge’s history while creating a meaningful experience for generations to come.
